The Devil is the arcana of appetite — money, status, sex, substances, the pull of wanting. It carries real power: strong vitality, magnetism, and an unembarrassed competence with material things. The shadow is the bind, where the thing you enjoy quietly starts making decisions for you. This position asks whether you own the attachment or it owns you.
On the money line the Devil is the arcana of appetite and material force — money follows focused desire, and blocks appear where you confuse worth with having. On the relationship line it marks intensity that can become dependence. At the centre it makes wanting itself the engine.
Name the thing you would find hardest to give up, then go a week without it. Not as penance — as information about who is holding the leash.
